Good Fruit & Veg Bacchus Marsh Field Days, April 19-20, 2018

HM.Clause demonstrated their proven innovative pedigree once again at their recently held Field Days in Bacchus Marsh, Victoria. A big thank you must go to TRIPOD Farms for hosting this event.

Baccus Marsh Field Days, AU

With visits from interstate growers, grower-marketers, processors, resellers as well as most links in the industry value adding chain, this event was well-attended. Of considerable interest for the impressive turnout were the following crop segments & varieties:

Iceberg Lettuce

TAWRIFFIC (ICE16042) – suitable for cool season for south QLD & spring season harvest in most southern production areas. It has exceptionally good uniformity & a large frame with large heads. It has a good disease package, consistently showing field resistance to all current local strains of mildew :

Multi-leaf Lettuce

INTERCUT – mid-green, vigorous, erect, finely incised multileaf for cool season harvest with extremely high leaf volume giving great yield & great taste for this type. Ideal bag filler in all Mesclun mixes. Also has a good disease package : Bl: 16-32; Nr:0

Fine Leaf Endive

KASSY – vigorous, erect, very fine frisee endive type, great for salad mix. Upright habit with high resistance to tipburn & bolting in the toughest growing conditions.

Mini-Cos Lettuce

YAMBU (ROM19247)ideal for twin packs! At its best in the warm season, great glossy thick dark green leaves, slow bolting. Bl: 16-32;Nr:0

Cauliflower

ESTIVO – bred for the warm in southern production areas – has great frame vigour & wrap which together are ideal for curd protection when needed most.

DEFENDER – exceptional curd quality, adaptable variety for the shoulder season in southern production areas & winter in south QLD.

Broccoli

HAPA ( CLX3570) –   fine beaded, great colour & well domed, good quality heads. Consistent performer & highly adaptable variety for late spring & warm season harvest in southern production areas & for spring, summer, autumn harvest in Southern QLD.
