Expansion & Investments

The first one, located in Vietnam, was added through the acquisition of Tropdicorp, a vegetable seed company focused on species for Asian markets. The other was the completion of a seed production facility in Kenya that is dedicated mainly to indeterminate tomato. This investment is expected to help meet the increased demand for some of HM.CLAUSE’s top-performing tomato varieties. In addition to expanding in these emerging markets, HM.CLAUSE strengthened their existing presence in Turkey by building a bigger sales office in support of the company’s growth in that region. “These strategic investments demonstrate our commitment to the ‘Global Reach, Local Touch’ philosophy that makes us so successful at building close relationships with our customers worldwide,” said Johnston.
Fiscal Year 2016 Starting Strong
As of the close of the first quarter Fiscal Year 2016 (July 1 to September 30, 2015), sales at HM.CLAUSE were up 15% over the same period in the previous year. This is in spite of several factors affecting agriculture around the world, including persistent drought in the American west and instability in Ukraine, among others. “This impressive start to the fiscal year can best be attributed to our reputation for delivering innovative and quality seed year after year,” Johnston stated, adding that the ability of HM.CLAUSE’s technical sales professionals to build trust with customers and partners is a key tenet of success.
