A global leader in vegetable seed production and distribution, our reliable team of breeders, growers, and developers oversee the successful production of seed varieties from planting through harvest and delivery. Our secure supply chain works in close collaboration with our laboratories to guarantee seed quality and purity every step of the way.
Flexible and reactive, our production system is organized around two main units—Home Farms with our Partner Growers’ Network and subcontractors.Seeds are fragile, they require a specific environment and the knowledge gained from experience to keep all their capability and to grow into quality vegetables. To ensure our supply of high-quality seeds is safe and secure, we trust only experienced growers to cultivate crops in the most ideal growing regions, taking advantage of crop cycles across both hemispheres. A complex interaction of genetics and environment, seed production is subject to natural variation. That’s why our top experts continually inspect and control crops in the field to guarantee every seed meets our strict quality standards.
Receiving and storage
Once harvested, seed is transported to one of our central processing facilities where highly-trained technicians verify lot and variety information before sampling for quality and checking to ensure seed count accuracy. Seed is then dried and stored in controlled conditions for temperature and humidity to preserve germination potential.
To ensure only the highest quality seeds are prepared for customer plantings, all seed lots are inspected and cleaned of substances like plant and soil material, dust, and weeds. Our experts use advanced knowledge of physical and physiological indicators of seed quality to enhance the separating, conditioning, and sizing process.
Once treated and packaged, seeds are responsibly shipped through our global distribution network to their final destination in one of the 100+ countries we’re proud to serve.
